Frequently Asked Questions

01

How do I place an order?

For mail orders, please email me at auntmaggieshomespun@gmail.com. This website is a showcase for my products and cannot process orders online.

02

What does it cost to ship my order?

I use the most economical rate Canada Post offers for your location to make ordering more affordable to customers. The mailing rates vary by weight and other factors beyond my control. I can usually give an estimate for shipping but cannot guarantee the price.

03

How can I pay for my order?

Contact me for the information to do a bank transfer. All prices given are in Canadian dollars, and may change without notice.

04

How can I tell you my size?

For sweater orders, a chest measurement (all the way around the torso with measuring tape lined up just under the arms), torso length (back of collar down to where you'd want the sweater to fall) and an arm length (under the arm to the wrist) are required. For socks and slippers, your shoe size is necessary. For hats, measure around the head at eyebrow level. Mittens and gloves can be fitted with the length from your wrist to the end of your longest finger. If you want extra length at a cuff or some extra room in a sweater, measure yourself normally but add a note with your request. Most items shown are made for adults, but child and youth sizes are possible for most patterns.

05

What if my sweater doesn't fit?

If your finished sweater is the wrong size, please contact me. I try to knit based on the best available information and do not consider the order complete until you are satisfied. Typically, I would ask you to send the garment back and ask for a new set of measurements to make a correct sweater as soon as I can. For this reason, I do not take payment until you have received and tried on your order.
